Established in 1938, Wise Electric Cooperative is a longtime, trusted brand in its local community. However, new and younger members of the community don’t always understand the value of a cooperative or Wise Electric’s involvement in their hometown. Springbox set out to build a new brand that communicated the value of Wise Electric to new and old customers and update their web presence to tell their rich brand story.

Powering a strategy through collaboration
To kickstart the rebranding and website redesign, Springbox sat down with key stakeholders at Wise Electric for a SpringSOLVE workshop. We went straight to the source to find an authentic brand story that would communicate key value propositions.

Sketching out a new brand identity
We needed to distill over 70 years of history into a single visual identity and messaging framework. The result was a friendly and distinctive voice and tone and a logo that evokes classic schematics with a modern look and feel.
Hitting the switch on a responsive website
The previous Wise Electric website looked outdated and was not a viable resource for staff or member-owners. We built a future-forward responsive website to deliver valuable information to member-owners and communicate the value of Wise Electric to prospective customers.
Capturing the beauty of a community
As a cooperative, the best representatives of Wise Electric are the community they’ve created. So we went to Decatur, Texas, to photograph the people that make up the cooperative. We also captured local environmental scenes to use as backgrounds and textures on the new website.
