Springbox Defines Rich Media at AIMA Event
Austin, TX — Jul 22, 2008
Springbox, a leading interactive marketing agency, recently took part in an Austin Interactive Marketing Association (AIMA)-hosted event exploring the role of rich media in creating immersive experiences online. Group Creative Director Adrian Taylor represented Springbox as a featured speaker, joining panelists from Avenue A | Razorfish, Eyewonder and Coloring Book Studios in front of an audience of industry insiders at the Parish in downtown Austin.
AIMA asked Springbox to provide insight around what the terms “rich media” and “immersive experience” mean in the ever-evolving world of interactive marketing. Taylor responded with a Flash-based rich media presentation that defined both terms, discussed strategies for responsible use and walked viewers through real-world Springbox implementations such as the LG Steam Laundry and Callaway Golf Netfits microsites.
While the catchall term “rich media” can mean different things to different people, Springbox defines it as media that “provides an experiential return on investment that exceeds the perceived value of the time required to experience it.” A full-service agency with robust rich media capabilities including 3D, CGI and digital photography, Springbox embraced the opportunity to share best practices with its peers. “Rich media can deliver more than just a consistent and immersive experience when it’s used responsibly and effectively,” says Taylor. “It delivers on the deal we make with our customers to provide both entertainment and value in exchange for their precious time.”
AIMA is a non-profit professional association dedicated to championing innovation in digital marketing. The organization hosts events on a semi-monthly basis, pulling in top talent from across the country to speak about topics that are relevant to the interactive marketing industry.
