Springbox Wins Adobe Site of The Day Award for gigabeat.com
Austin, TX — Jan 18, 2008
Austin-based interactive marketing firm Springbox has won yet another Adobe Site of the Day Award, this time for its work on the Toshiba gigabeat website, gigabeat.com. Awarded for outstanding use of Adobe Flash technology, the honor is the ninth of its kind that Springbox has garnered in recent years.
Impressed by Flash-based sites Springbox has built for the Lollapalooza Music Festival and for Lance Armstrong, Toshiba tapped the agency to create an online presence that generates buzz around the gigabeat U-Series and the video-capable T-Series Portable Media Players. In a market saturated with MP3 players, gigabeat stands out because it offers generous storage capacity within a small, ultra-stylish footprint — attributes that resonate deeply with its young, image-conscious target audience.
Taking visual cues from the product and the brand, Springbox created a sleek, modern site for the gigabeat that uses Flash technology to captivate and educate visitors. Intuitive Flash-based elements provide engaging ways for users to learn about different products, accessories and more. "The Toshiba gigabeat is unique because it's functional and fashionable," says Group Creative Director Chris Mayfield. "We felt the site should embody both the style of the product and the mobile lifestyle it caters to."
Springbox has won the Adobe Site of the Day Award for its work on eight other projects, including sites for Lance Armstrong and for the 2006 Lollapalooza Festival, which also earned a Webby Award in 2007 for Best Event Website.
