Springbox Helps Fans Saddle Up For Inaugural Big State Festival
College Station, TX — Oct 12, 2007
Developed by Austin-based interactive marketing firm Springbox, BigStateFestival.com is experiencing a veritable stampede of web traffic. In anticipation of the first ever Big State Festival, a small army of fans is using the site to plan their festival experience and lasso last-minute tickets.
The Big State Festival follows on the heels of two other big-name events by festival promoter C3 Presents: Chicago’s celebrated Lollapalooza and the hugely successful Austin City Limits Music Festival. Featuring a stable of mainstream, classic and independent country stars, Big State hopes to capitalize on concertgoers left out by traditional "big rock" festivals. Stock-car races, a barbecue cook-off and a Roadhouse-style sports bar cater to the event’s unique fan-base.
Springbox designed the Big State site with these fans firmly in mind. The site aesthetic captures the festival’s country spirit, and an intuitive interface provides easy access to tickets, travel information, a custom schedule tool, and the latest festival news. A quartet of country-fried Flash games round out the Big State site.
Springbox and C3 Presents have a long working relationship, with Springbox as the past developer of choice for Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits websites. "[C3’s] events have given us the opportunity to really redefine the online experience around a major music festival," explains Springbox co-founder Dan Isaacs. Springbox received a 2007 Webby award for its work on the 2006 Lollapalooza website.
