Springbox Expands Its Austin Headquarters
Austin, TX — Dec 3, 2007
Springbox, a burgeoning Austin interactive marketing firm, expanded its Congress Avenue office to make room for a growing cast of creative talent. The 2,600 square foot addition allows the company to meet the needs of a maturing portfolio of clients and interactive projects.
Along with a workspace designed to accommodate 35 additional employees, Springbox created a series of collaboration areas, recreation zones and a lavish front lobby. For design, the company turned once more to renowned interior architect Tamie Glass of idr studio (www.idr-studio.com). Glass outfitted the expanded space with geometric flourishes that play off the Springbox name and brilliant splashes of the company's trademark orange.
The expansion represents the fourth for Springbox since its founding in 2003, and the first to combine the company's historic office spaces. Dating from the 1870s, the limestone walls have housed the Austin chamber of commerce, an art gallery, a stationery boutique and a movie-star loft. "For the life of our company, we've inhabited a series of inspired spaces that were adjacent rather than adjoined," explains Springbox co-founder Dan Isaacs. "Our new footprint provides more than simple convergence. What we have now is an organic space that invites collaboration."
In the making for several months, the expansion comes on the heels of an exciting season for Springbox. On October 19, the interactive firm announced its acquisition by New York-based marketing technologies powerhouse Viewpoint Corporation. In recent weeks, the company welcomed Makos — a prominent Austin marketing firm — into the Springbox fold. And plans are in the works to expand the interactive company's Los Angeles presence.
