Dell and Springbox Re-Imagine the Dell Lounge

Austin, TX — Oct 11, 2007

Austin-based interactive marketing firm Springbox engineered the launch of Dell Lounge 2.0, an entertainment website connecting users to ground-breaking music, gaming and lifestyle experiences. The new site introduces dramatic scalability in both the types of entertainment presented to users and the volume and reach of site content.

The success of the original Dell Lounge site prompted the expansive 2.0 redesign. To date, the site has served up an engaging blend of exclusive content, fan participation opportunities and exciting live events. It’s even landed a few decisive home runs, including "the Sound and the Jury," an online battle-of-the-bands that took place at this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival.

“The Dell Lounge has quickly become a great destination site for fans of everything from live music to video mash-ups to gaming cons,” explains Dell Lounge project manager Michael Lambert. “The 2.0 launch will allow us to become a true lifestyle site, with rapidly-updated content and enhanced opportunities for fan participation.” The Dell Lounge gives the Austin computer manufacturer a chance to associate its brand with cutting-edge entertainment and hot events, as well as community and environmental initiatives.

Springbox was chosen to orchestrate the site redesign after its successful development of the original Dell Lounge. According to Springbox Account Director Bryan Hjelm, the site represents a labor of love for the company: “As huge live music fans, we found the original project especially inspiring. We jumped at the opportunity to run with our ideas and make a good thing even better.”

Dell Lounge features include a page devoted to the highly anticipated Tabula Rasa online game, exclusive footage from the South Padre International Music Festival and music picks from Paste Magazine.
