Dell Gift Finder Earns Springbox Its Eighth Adobe Nod
Austin, TX — Dec 18, 2007
Dell's Holiday Gift Finder microsite has gained recognition as an official Adobe Site of the Day for December 18th, 2007. Developed by Austin interactive marketing firm Springbox, the site uses a slick Flash front-end to guide customers to targeted gifts from Dell's expansive catalogue of electronics and accessories.
The first "gift selector" application developed for Dell.com, the Dell Holiday Gift Finder highlights the range of non-PC products sold on the computer manufacturer's site. An intuitive Flash-based user interface guides consumers through the gift-buying process, allowing them to select traits of their intended gift recipients, receive recommendations, store favorite selections and repeat the process for new recipients.
Springbox designed the Dell Holiday Gift Finder following an in-depth competitive analysis of gift finder applications currently on the market. Usability drove the development of unique features, such as on-screen filters allowing users to change search criteria without leaving the page, and a persistent "favorite gifts" section. In look, the microsite takes its cues from Dell's highly successful 2007 Inspiron ad campaign, which introduced consumers to the company's fun, colorful side.
The Adobe Site of the Day mention represents the eighth such distinction for Springbox since the company's founding in 2004. "Industry recognition pays off for both Springbox and its clients," explains Springbox Account Director Bryan Hjelm. "In this case, Dell is reinforcing its image as a thought leader in the online world. And we get to produce a memorable, innovative application."
Springbox is currently producing interactive content for several of Dell's business lines, on projects that range from small business consumer education to the Dell Lounge entertainment site.
