The Coding Challenge

by Springbox June 24, 2011

Springboxers love a little healthy competition to keep our skill sets fresh. So on a sultry Friday afternoon, the development team challenged the rich media team to an in-house coding contest to write (from scratch, no Google) a javascript function that computes the 5001st prime number. After 30 minutes of coding, the submissions were posted for judging. The criteria for judging was based on elegance of the solution, as well as, speed of the function. Winners were John French and Chris Shaheen of the rich media team, with a function that ran in a speedy 945 milliseconds!
